I've been trying to locate Jane Simson's father, Joseph Simson. I know from the 1881 Census that in that census he was a widower, and a boarder in Cumberland, England. On Jane's marriage record, the bride's mother's name is not filled in. Jane was born in 1844 so I would suspect Joseph's birthdate would be from 1822 forward.

In Family Search I have 2 Jane Simpsons listed. They were both married Sept. 25, 1873 in Newton-by-castleacre, norfolk. Is this the same Newton? No other information is given except they were both married to a John Barwood (if these are not duplicate entries)?

Thank you wilcoxon. My last name was spelled Stimson. To this point, the name was spelled Stimpson. Am I reading your info. correctly that the name has now become Simpson? I wonder what it will turn into farther back?

Looking for parents of Rosetta BARWOOD. She was born 1871 in Lincolnshire, married to Samuel Stimson (date of marriage not known) and died in 1952 (place not known). Thank you
