Hello Denis,
I am new to rootschat and have just come across your messages re the Purvis family. Going backwards, I was very interested to see the infomation regarding Thomas Joseph, I have been struggling with that for some time.
I wonder if you would be able to help me with the death of Thomas George Purvis, the marine artist.
Some of the art auction websites give him a mention, and one in particular said that he died when the Japanese bombed Shanghai in 1932-33.
I have been unable to find any confirmation of this looking through the GRO overseas deaths records, but conversely, I have been unable to find his death aat all.
The last mention of him I have found is 1911 census when he is living with his family in Greenwich.
I you, indeed anyone, can offer any suggestions I would be grateful.
