Yes, I am related it seems. Thanks for your post. I would love to get details of the gravestones in the Berriew church. I have a photo of Gwen and Edward Woolley with my grandparents taken many decades ago when they visited their home in Leominster. My grandparents emigrated to Australia in the 1920's and kept in contact with many relatives back home. Another photo circa 1909 shows my grandmother aged around 12 with her siblings at a farm, possibly Felindre Farm near Berriew occupied by her grandfather John Edwards who married the eldest Hughes girl Mary in 1865.

Hi, I have found a few bits and pieces of the family tree including parents of James Fawcett being Charles and Elizabeth. Also the reason for the change of name from Fawcett to Lynar for some of James Fawcett's grandchildren. As it turns out Alexander was not the cause but I need to find out more about Alexander Lynar treasurer for Co Dublin. Cheers Ion

Hi. Interested to hear that you live in Kingston and I hope you can help me with a query. James Fawcett, my 5th great grandfather lived at a property called Avon Hill about 1 klm west of Kingston probably overlooking the river Avonbeg. He was buried on 31 March 1804 at the Rathdrum Parish Church (C of I). He was a Church Warden. Do you know if Rathdrum had a C of I church in the town. According to Griffith's Valuations Ävon Hill is located in townland of Ballyknockan Lower. Avon Hill was the address of William Tomlinson (son in law of James Fawcett) who lived on the property in 1833 when his sons Arthur Wellesly Tomlinson and Charles Fawcett Tomlinson married. According to Google Maps the property is still called Avon Hill Farm and is used as K9 Boarding Kennel. Have you any knowledge of the property and are there any structures dating back to when James Fawcett lived there. He was a builder and owned other property in Dublin and may have constructed a house on the property. Cheers, Ion

Hi Ann Marie,
I hope you are well. I am very thankful for your earlier assistance. I know we have a connection through the Mills line and perhaps another connection through my 4th great grandparents Abraham Emerson Heatly/Heatley b 1772 d 1804 in co Wicklow who married Christina Byrne in 1790 at Derrylossary. One of their sons also Abraham Emerson Heatly/Heatley b 1798 d 1853 married Sophia Dorothea Heatley a cousin in 1824, my 3rd great grandparents.
Cheers

Hi,
My ancestors Jonathan Hughes and Jane possibly Evans who married in 1842. They had 8 children. Jane died soon after the birth of her youngest child Elizabeth. Lizzie to my grandmother. I am descended from the eldest, Mary Hughes who married John Edwards in 1865. My grandmother kept in contact with the Hughes cousins including Gwenllyn E Rogers ( my grandmother's second cousin) who married Edward E Woolley and lived at St Botolphs Hereford Rd Leominster. Gwenllyn was the dau of William Rogers and Annie Jane Watkin (dau of Ed Watkin & Annie Hughes). I am interested in any records showing the death of Jane Hughes in 1860 in Berriew. I think it more likely she was born in 1825 not 1805 as I have seen on a Watkin family tree.

Hi
Sophia Sparks is I believe my 3rd great grandmother. Sparks was her married name after she married John Sparks. I do not know her maiden name. Sophia married John Sparks probably around 1823? They had three children Mary Ann Sparks, Sophia Sparks and John William Sparks and lived in Roan St Greenwich. John Sparks was a waterman for HM Customs. Apparently he drowned in the Thames between 1830 and 1833. St Alphege Greenwich was their church. John William Sparks (Sophia's son) says in his notes that he attended Sunday School there, as a child went to church twice every Sunday, was confirmed there, and buried his mother there. Sophia married secondly to Lindsay or Linzey Bates apparently in 1833 and had 3 children. John W Sparks (my 2nd great grandfather) married Margaret Merrick in 1854. If you find Sophia's maiden name please let me know.

I have found another William Lynar who may have been the father of Olivia. This William Lynar is mentioned in Freemans Journal & Daily Commercial Advertizer Sat Nov 13 1858 under the heading Insolvent Debtors. He once resided at Lower Georges St Kingstown Co Dublin and was a Victualler which probably meant he sold grog. Sir William Wrainwright Fawcett Lynar once resided in Kingstown for a short time but he died in 1845. I do not believe that William the victualler was Sir William's son.
It is more likely I feel after reading William King Lynar's will that he had not married. It would be unusual to provide for ones mother and not mention a wife and daughter in the will. Also Isabella his mother died a few weeks prior to her sons death and the memorial to them says erected by a "few friends". No mention of wife and child.

Hi Axlehurn,
I was very interested to hear of the possible existance of a wife for Rev William King Lynar and a child. Have you been able to confirm the record with familysearch?
I am descended from the brother of Sir William Wainwright Fawcett Lynar and I have researched the family tree a few generations further up.
Siblings of Rev William include Rowland (also seen spelt Roland) Lynar and Capt. Edward Alexander Fawcett Lynar.
Do you know if Roland Lynar married and had any children? I have found an Alfred Lynar of Belfast in the 1901 census aged 43 which would put his dob around 1857. Alfred had a son Roland which makes me think there may be a connection.

Hi Ealar,
Great to meet another distant cousin. Yes, I have John and Eleanor marring 9th Aug 1819. John was a rector in Bray probably St Paul's the old church on the main road down by the stream. They had heaps of kids 13 names I have. Eleanor's brother James also married an Exshaw, Elizabeth dau of the Hon John Exshaw twice Mayor of Dublin and Hannah La Graville. Hon John Exshaw had 3 different wives that I am aware of. The other two being Angel Wilkinson and Thomasine Hatfield. I think Thomasine was the mother of Revd John. I would love to chat further.
