Early Inhabitants of Kent
'Archbishop Parker's Visitation 1569'. Transcribed by Arthur Hussey from the records of Canterbury Cathedral and published in the 'Home Counties' magazine in 1903. This series of articles on the state of the parishes and the parishioners has now been indexed.
'Some East Kent Parish History'. Writing under the nom de plume of Peter de Sandwich, this worthy transcribed early parish records (1535-1729) of the presentations to the Archdeacon's Court (so called ‘Bawdy Court’) from the library of Canterbury Cathedral. First published in the 'Home Counties' magazine from 1900, these articles have now been indexed. These records provide a fascinating window into parish life of those times. The Church exerted a powerful influence on day-to-day life and often called to account those who transgressed, particularly on the Sabbath. PM for details.

'Strangers, Foreigners & Aliens'
CD-ROM includes the following:
'List of Strangers London 1567/8'. Transcribed from the Lansdowne MSS in the British Museum by the Rev. Cornelius Hallen and published as a series of lists in 'The Genealogical Magazine', London 1897/8. There are thousands of names of European origin (including Scots who were then regarded as foreigners), often detailing wives & children, their occupation, servants and their country of birth. This collection is grouped as nationals in each of the London wards and specifies whether or not they are denizens and how long they have been there. This collection has now been indexed with some 3275 names.
'Lists of Foreign Protestants, and Aliens Resident in England 1618-1688' as transcribed from State Papers by Wm. Durrant Cooper and published by the Camden Society, London 1862. This also has thousands of names and often details their occupation and the land and place of birth. This collection is indexed.
The information, as two sets of data which neatly complement each other, is sold as a CD-ROM in Acrobat (pdf) format. PM for details.

Hello Keith,
I tried to attach charts or photo but, for some reason, the software is non-compliant.

Hello Keith,
I've been researching my family for many years and would probably have the answers to any questions. One of Rebecca's descendants was Vice-Admiral Gallafent Gurrner RN, one time Commodore I/C Hong Kong. John Gurner, the solicitor, made a name for himself in Australia and, supposedly, interviewed Ned Kelly, the notorious outlaw. On the Gallafent side there is a direct line to 1623 and probable lines to 1293...

Mike.
