what are the names and baptism dates and places of all the children from the 3 marriages

could it be a 2nd marriage for Nancy Tweddle (ie tweddle might not be her maiden name)

Totally out of the blue whist searching for something else

I found a picture of the headstone on which Agnes Moffat is recorded

She is listed on her father-in-laws george Kennedy headstone

see https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/197137678/george-kennedy for more details

Angus (Forfarshire) / Headstone lookup Dundee Eastern Cemetery
« on: Thursday 09 April 20 11:25 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

does anyone know if there are headstone inscription records for the Dundee Eastern Cemetery

I am trying to find the headstone of Christina Fernie MS Laidlaw died 4th December 1896

From Dundee City Council records Christina Laidlaw was buried in the Eastern Cemetery Section AA lair no 126

I have visited the cemetery but have been unable to find a headstone in the correct area, several have fallen over or seem to be missing completely, and of course perhaps she never had a headstone in the first place.

Is there a map showing position of actual Lair numbers, and / or any record of headstone inscriptions

this has been a long term brickwall for further background see the following post

thanks in advance for any help

Many years later ...

just goes to show you never give up on brickwalls

Christine Laidlaw is proved as the mother of Martha Ferrier via dna testing,so our conjecture was correct all along

still no sign of John Ferrier's death certificate though !!

Further information on this

There is a small paragraph in the Dundee Evening Post - Wednesday 30 December 1903 under the heading News of the Day stating that

Mr Cunningham Rae, Crofthead Kirkcudbright the oldest person in the district has just died in his 99th year. He was a member of a family whose longevity was somewhat remarkable, his father having reached the patriarchial age of 102 years

Im on holiday just now with no access to my records, but from memory there are two Cunningham Raes who seem to get mixed up by researchers the tailor who marries Agnes Duncan and another one who marries Grace Logan.

Lucy2 where did you manage to find this info from ?

Tim   ... a little extra info for John Beattie FERGUSON :

New Zealand Army, WW1 Reserve Rolls - 1916-1917

FERGUSON - John Beattie - Comm. Traveller - Bath Street, Palmerston North

Classification:   B

[Note:  Reservists were classified by the number of children they had.  "B" classifcation = one child.]

Not sure exactly when this reserve roll was drawn up ... and can't see a birth to John and Susan FERGUSON up to "today's date" 1916.   But seems there was a child ... probably born late 1916 ... or in 1917.  [Whether that child reached adulthood, is another matter ? ]

I think that must be the place, I can post the whole document but thought that was frowned upon.
