hi Lindy-Lou. I see that you are descended from John Cornell Chads. I have been researching an Australian colonial writer called Ellen Augusta Chads, who was married to John Cornell Chads' son Captain John Henry Chads (his second wife) and came to live in Melbourne Australia. Two daughters of John's first marriage (Elizabeth Anne de Villiers Smidt) called Georgina and Annie came to Australia later, and when Annie died, the death notice mentions Dorothy Chads, a cousin. I got Dorothy's death notice, which says that her father was Herbert but no other particulars are known. Do you know anything about this branch of the family? Are there any descendents still in Australia? I have recently had an article on Ellen Chads published in a journal called Margin.
