Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Joseph Lunnon - Wooburn
« on: Friday 18 January 13 03:03 GMT (UK)  »
I have a Mary Ann Lunnon in my tree who was born in Wooburn, Bucks on 30th Sept 1798.  I am after her parents who are listed as Joseph Lunnon & Elisabeth.  I can't find a marriage for this couple and was hoping that some kind person with access to the records could see if their is any sign of a marriage for this couple - it would be much appreciated.  Thanks .... Janet

Thanks a lot Valda, that's very useful information and makes a lot of sense as the man in question had been living with his daughter for many years prior.  I didn't realise that the sick etc could go to get medical help and has cleared up a mystery on another line of my ever growing family tree.  Thanks again.  Very very helpful and much appreciated.   :) Janet

Thanks for your reply Valda.

I've had another look at the online image, which is a bit faint, and yes there are others on the page that say 'private'.  However now I've looked at the whole page I now realise that this was a record of deaths in a workhouse, and not St Paul's church in Mill Hill - how I could have missed seeing that before I don't know !! I've looked at it enough times!! Obviously I didn't scroll to the very top of the page !!  As the other people have their place of burial in different places eg Pinner and Willesden,  I'm presuming that those marked 'private'  must have had family that arranged to have them buried. The record is for a William Shaylor who died 16th April 1900 aged around 82.  Have I presumed correctly do you think?

Thanks very much for you help
Janet

Thanks David - how very kind of you to go to all that trouble - it's much appreciated.  As you say, it's a bit difficult to prove without a baptism record, my ancestors seem to have a way of hiding themselves.  I did think that Phebe was a rather unusual name - oh well the hunt continues ..... thanks again    Janet

:)Wow thanks David.  That was very helpful as I hadn't thought that the baptism might have been in a different place.  I'm in Australia and don't always realise how close some of these places are to each other, even looking at a map doesn't always help, so thanks again.  Have a Happy New Year.    Janet

Hi Trish1120 :) Thankyou for looking.  I didn't realise that there was a gap in the freeBMD which is helpful to know.  I'll keep looking.  I appreciate your help.  Thanks

I'm looking for the birth of MARY BENNETT born circa 1784 in Corston (Somerset).  I have her in the 1851 census age 67 living with her husband William Millard age 72 and one son, but can not find her birth anyway.  Many thanks for any information.

Thanks very much.  He's a very difficult ancestor, shows up in the 51 census and then disappears until his marriage and then disappears again.  I'll keep hunting.  Much obliged. ;)
