Completed Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Census Look Up Please - Poynton

Sue,

I am so excited to hear from you! I haven't had much time to work on genealogy lately so this is a wonderful surprise to finally "meet" someone from this part of my family. I would love to exchange information with you.

Most of the information I have on this family is what I have found through the census and familysearch.org so many of the pieces are still missing.

I am descended through Thomas and Hannah's daughter Hannah. She married John Sanders and they had 7 children (that I know of). Their daughter Florence Hannah Sanders is my great-grandmother. Florence was married to Albert William Rayner and they came to the United States in 1905 with their 2 sons. John and Hannah followed suit around 1913 (according to the 1920 U.S. census), I still haven't found them on a passenger list. Their daughter Laura also came in 1920.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!

Amy

Hope this helps!

Alli,

Thank you so much for this information. I hadn't been able to find them yet for 1841 and moved on to other research until the Birmingham 1841 census was posted online.

Thanks again!

Alli,

Thank you so much for looking this up for me! I really appreciate it. This looks like the family I was looking for. I've been researching other areas of my family while I waited for the 1841 census to be finished online. Now I can come back to this!

Thanks again!

Sunflower,

Thank you so much for looking this up! It definitely looks promising that this is my John. I hope I will now be able to put together the pieces.

Thanks again,

Al,

Thank you so much for looking this up for me! I really appreciate it. I'm having a hard time tracing this part of the family since it is before the civil registration so any info is welcome in putting together the puzzle.

I do have one Rayner (Albert) that I know lived in Aston in 1901 who was the great-grandson of the George that I am looking for, but everyone else in that particular line between George and Albert lived in Birmingham or at least that's where they were on the censuses.

Thank you again! I'm waiting patiently for the 1841 to come online to hopefully give me some clues.

India,

Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate the time you took looking for my family. I've been watching and waiting for the 1841 Birmingham census to go online. Hopefully it will be soon!

Thanks again,
Amy

JJDownunder,

Thank you so much for the wonderful information. Hopefully I will be able to start making some connections for this Dickinson family. William was driving me crazy as I kept finding him on the US censuses in close proximity to Hannah, but I didn't know how he was related. Now I may be able to figure it out.

Thanks again,
Amy

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / 1861 Census Lookup please - Sanders
« on: Wednesday 06 April 05 19:05 BST (UK)  »
Can I please get a lookup for my SANDERS family? I don't know much about them so any help is appreciated. If this info isn't enough I understand.

I am looking for:
John Sanders - he was born in 1851 or 1852 (his ages on the 1871-1891 are 20, 29 and 38) The later censuses say both Litchurch and Derby, Derbyshire as place of birth. I guess Derby was the registration district. On 1871 census he was living in Litchurch on Portland St.

I don't know his parents names and so far haven't found a listing on freebmd or LDS that looks like him so I haven't been able to order a certificate yet.

Thank you for your help,
Amy
