Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Willingham Parish registers lookup please

I've had similar problems with Family Search.

Have you done a search on the Cambridgeshire Family History Society website? They have a Thomas Churchman baptised 1694 in Dry Drayton. It may not be the right Thomas and I don't have those PRs to check.

I have the PRs on fiche but no Thomas Churchmans or Churches baptised in 1701. There's a John Churchman son of John and Mary baptised 2nd August 1702

I think that Mary Metcalfe's sister Elizabeth was my 3xgreat grandmother. Elizabeth married William Handley in 1832.

I can remember my grandfather who died in the 1980s didn't want to go into the Tower hospital in Ely. He still thought of it as the workhouse.

Cambridge workhouse on Mill Road eventually became the maternity hospital-I was born there.

Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Isaac Raby Birth Lookup Request Please

I have the parish records on fiche but they don't give any more details. Sometimes they will give date of birth or if they are twins but not this time.

If the children were born in St Ives they might have been registered in Huntingdonshire as it was a separate county then .

I've found the date of his baptism in Over parish records but all it says is  2nd March 1845-Raby Isaac
s of John and Mary. Rebecca Raby was baptised the same day as was an elder brother Thomas aged 3.

There is no record of his birth in the CAMDEX index of births, deaths and marriages.

Cambridgeshire / Re: Marsh of Ely

There is a family tree for the  Haddenham branch of theMarch family in Charles Bester's " A Parish History of Haddenham , Isle of Ely" . According to his tree the William March who died in 1700 was childless and left his estate to his nephew Ralph. Ralph married Sarah Rowlands who had inherited a fortune from David Rowlands who owned Hinton Hall in Haddenham. According to the tree Ralph and Sarah had three children-William who died in 1710 aged 3 weeks, Thomas 1711-12 and Sarah who married Pell Gatward who died in 1741 and then Isaac Woolaston.

Later in the book Mr Bester mentions a William March who was a magistrate in 1670.There was a charity in Haddenham named after Elizabeth March wife of William. He claims she was born in Fulbourn in 1636 and was buried there when she died in 1722 aged 87.Apparently the charity paid to have the memorial stone at Fulbourn repaired in 1980 so I assume it is still there.

I haven't checked this information in the parish records . Mr Bester was parish clerk in Haddenham for many years.

Cambridgeshire / Re: Long Addenham 1851: Haddenham 1861 - Location today

I grew up in Haddenham, Cambs and my family have lived there since at least the 1600s. I'm pretty sure there is no Long Addenham nearby so you would be better off trying the Bucks forum.
