Many thanks. I had not yet looked into Annie Gill's family and forebears.

Sandra,  many thanks for all the information about the works on Canwick Road. As a boy, I remember seeing hundreds of workers leaving the factory at the end of the day.

Lincolnshire / Nora Newton, later Reeson, born 1912, died 1949.

Hi all, I am tracing the ancestors of Nora Newton born in 1912 in Lincoln RD, and looking at her life too. In 1938 she married Thomas Reeson, having just stopped working at Robey's in Lincoln. She died in 1949. I am wondering if anyone has information about Nora, apart from her marriage, children or ancestors! Photographs would be wonderful. Also, any jnformation about the sort of work she did at Robey's. She was presented with a clock when she left the firm.

Cavan / James Curry b1924 and his parents
« on: Thursday 28 July 22 14:22 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I have been searching for quite a while for James Curry, born in 1924 in either Killesher or Kinawley parishes of Clogher's Catholic Diocese. No luck with the GRO or with the NLI or national archives in Dublin. Also, his parents were another James Curry and Maria Murphy, their first child born in 1916. As the parishes cross the Cavan Fermanagh border, the records could be in either. If anyone can help I shall be very grateful. Andrew Wilson

Europe / Re: Christine Kleinertz

Dear Dave Capps,  many thanks for your messages. Quite a few Kleinertz families migrated from Germany to the United States. I have got replies to all four emails I sent in German to the archives offices in Cologne, Euskirchen, Bonn and Duisburg. None of them had a Christine/a Kleinertz born in 1891. The six-storey state archives in Cologne collapsed several years ago, causing the loss of an enormous number of records. I am not related to these people, but I do help people with research. It is sure that all Kleinertz families originated in the German Rhineland. Andrew

davecapps   thank you! I did know about the lady hairdresser living in Cologne in 1920. As I am helping one of Christine's grandsons I may well sign up to Archion. I had not heard of that site until now, so I appreciate you alerting me to it. Andrew Wilson, London SW4
