Family History Beginners Board / Re: Murray - Patrick/James

Thank you for this information, any lead is better than nothing, I had checked the electoral rolls for the family and seen than Patrick J Murray was listed 1930, 1931, and 1932 but nothing after this, although in 1955, 1958 and 1959 a Cyril S. Murray appears but no-one in the family is able to remember or know who this is?

An update on this post.

The E. Murray, stands for Edward Murray.

However I do not appear to be very much further ahead in my search for Patrick James Murray, who was a Restaurant Waiter at time of marriage.

If anyone is able to help that would be great.

Many thanks

Thank you all.

I know they were living in Bermondsey, London at the time of the marriage.  I will try and look for a baptism for my nan.  My grandfather, Patrick Murray remains a mystery, and with such a common name has proved very tricky in trying to trace, he apparently up and left at some point, all we know is of his occupation as a Waiter and that he as possibly Irish.......

However at least I now have the full name of the witness on the marriage cetificate.

I will also try to check any marriage announcements.

Once again thank you all for your help :-)

Many thanks for this, I had some of the words sorted, but wants to make sure :-)

With it being a mixed relationship and a dispensation granted, would there be a site or somewhere that would have these records?, I'm hoping to be able to obtain more information in regards to my grandfather and where he may of originated from.  At least I now know the name of one of they witnesses as being Edward Murray.

Many thanks for your help on this.

Kind regards

J

Would anybody be able to decipher or interpret what I presume to be Latin please from information I have recently received via the church (Roman Catholic) where my grandparents were married?   This is a small step closer to tracing my Grandfather. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks  J
