Hi Cas, long time no speak.   I have been inactive for a while but now OK.   Hope you are keeping well also.   Thank you for your information on copyright, I thought the census was in the public domain.   I would hate to infringe copyright or indeed to induce others to the same.   Glad to see all my uncles and aunts (and father ) are still at home.
Best wishes, Dave  :)

Cardiganshire Lookup Requests / Jones Family in Aberystwyth - 1921
« on: Thursday 16 May 24 15:02 BST (UK)  »
If some kind person has access to 1921 Census, I should appreciate a lookup for the family of Elizabeth Jane Jones, born 1877 Trefeurig, widowed, possibly living in Greenfield Street, Aberystwyth.  6 children, possibly not all still living at home - all surnames Jones - David William 1900, Richard Trefor 1902, Ceinwen 1905, Thomas Isfryn 1907, John Alwyn 1910 and Elizabeth Ann 1912.
Father was killed at Mametz in 1916.
Thanks in advance, Dave

World War Two / Royal Air force Enlistment - Thomas Isfryn Jones
« on: Saturday 26 August 23 08:20 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find some basic information about the enlistment and subsequent RAF service of Thomas Isfryn Jones.   He was born 23 August 1907 in Talybont, Cardiganshire.  Married Daisy Jenkins in 1937 and lived in Aberystwyth.   Being over 30 at the outset of the war, he was probably called up later in the war and joined the RAF possibly in Penarth.   I believe most of his service was undertaken on bomber bases processing post bombing raid photographs etc.
Any information greatly appreciated
Dave

Unfortunately not the same person, Herbert John Kent was born 28 Aug 1894 in Selworthy, Somerset And died 8 Feb 1962 in Hammersmith, London.   His parents were Herbert Kent and Mary Baker Havill both from Somerset, the family lived in london   Herbert John Kent married Adelaide Florence Baxter 14 Aug 1916 and had no children, they too lived in London.

Appreciate any information, (records, medal index cards etc) on the wartime service of Herbert John Kent, Born Selworthy, Somerset in 1894.   In 1896 the family were living in London.
In 1915 Herbert John Kent served with 2/3rd, 3/3rd Bn (Royal Fusiliers) London Regiment and in 1919 he was with 1st, 3rd Reserve Bn, London Regiment.   I presume his rank was Private.
Thanks in advance
Dave
