Hi Kirsty,
Thanks for the reply. It seems you may have found just what i was looking for......hope so.  I will take your advice and order the certificate. It looks like Henry did not marry Ann in Horncastle after all.
Thanks again,
Val.

Hi and thanks for sending me the info,   but i already had all this. I found the family on the 1841, 1851, 1861, census.

The problem i really have is finding Williams parents.  They may be John and Ann, but i need further proof.

I will keep searching.  If you turn up anything else to do with the family i would appreciate it. I do not know when William died either.
Many thanks once again for taking the trouble to get back to me.

Val

I have Chapmans in Horncastle, namely....
William b  c1794, who married Mehetabel (Woodhouse) b 1800.  They married in 1818 in Horncastle.  They had children...
Ann
Mary Ann
Eliza (beth)
William
Sophia, who died age 2/3
Henry

Is anyone researching the same family please, as i cannot find Williams parents?
William was a Bootmaker, as was  his youngest son Henry who is my great grandfather.

Hope someone on here can help me,
Thanks

Hi Floss,
Thank you very much for replying. That is very kind of you to offer to take a look at the address i gave you.  If it is still standing would it be possible for you to send me a pic of it? I know Henry was a Bootmaker in his earlier years. He may have had a business there maybe?
Look forward to hearing from you, and thanks again, i am most grateful for any help as i live down in Cornwall.

Hi,     My greatgrandfather lived at 106 Cleethorpe Road, Great grimsby in 1881 with his family.
His name was Henry Chapman.
Not sure if this is within your area?   Or even if the house is still standing ?
Look forward to hearing from you, and thanks in anticipation.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / marriage lookup please Horncastle

My greatgrandfather was Henry Chapman, born Horncastle.  On 1881 census, he is age 40 and  has a wife Ann (surname unknown) age 39 born in Tealby and 5 children, Fanny 16, William15, Henry 12, Antliff (known as Samuel) 9, and Martha 7.
I wondered if anyone could tell me the surname of Henry's wife Ann.
Also do any of these names mean anything to anyone else, so i could find a connection to help with my searching?
Thank you very much.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / St Michaels Church, Basingstoke

I have recently come into possession of someones baptism certificate.  It was in some stuff i brought in an auction.

The name on it is EILEEN GWYNETH but no surname.
She was born December 14th 1916
Baptised at St Michaels Church, Basingstoke November 22nd 1917 by the Rev G Healey.

The only other names on it are....
William Skinner, and Gertrude Skinner, and Annie Jane Metcalf.
These may be Eileen's Godparents?

As i have no family connections to any of these people i was wondering if you could find out the surname of Eileen and then any of her descendents who would like the certificate would be most welcome to receive it from me.

Thanks for reading this, and i hope we can return this document to its rightful owner, with your help.
 :)
