London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 census

Well, I checked and their were a couple of Williams from York and Wortley and a few Hannah's from Huddersfield, Sheffield and Islington but I have no way of knowing if they are the ones I am looking for.  My Kilners have been found through the marriage in Pancras and the christening  of the two older daughters in St. Marylebonne.  The search goes on.  Guess I will just have to go visit England and see if I can find anything.   :)

Yes I have not been able to find any records of William and Hannah (Thorpe) Kilner at all.  I have found a Jane Kilner in 1860 living in Boston that might be her sister but nothing definite.  I am just starting searching for them.  Is the name of the website you suggested looking on for the Free BMD www.freebmd.com?

Thank you so much for the information.  I now need to find out if there was a census after this date but before 1851.  My Elizabeth immigrated to the US in 1851 and I can not find either of her parents.

Thank you again.

Thank you so much for the information.  I will now have to see if I can check out the official records.  I know that I have found a Jane Kilner is Boston in 1860 living with her mother Elizabeth which is the right age.  No Mary though.  Quite possibly William and Mary might have died.  My Elizabeth that was born in 1843 and immigrated to the US in 1850 named her first child Mary.

Thank you again for you assistance.

Thank you for this information.  My William & Hannah were married in Old St. Pancras Church and I only have their daughter born in London.  Do you know if this address is in the same general area?

I have still not been able to find anything else on these people.  Any suggestions on where to look?  According to census, she came over from England  ca1850 at the age of 7 years old.  That is all that I know about her.

Thank you for anything you can tell me.

Thank you for your help.  I am going to try to do some more searching to see if I can find any more clues to John Matthewson's parents on this end.  I have found one person that I am trying to contact that says his middle name is Neil.

Thank you again.

John evidently came from Ireland to New York which is where he met his wife Eliza Johnson, daughter of William and Jemima (Post) Johnson. They were married in Staten Island in 1833.  They had the following children:

Samuel F, Jane Eliza, John Jacob, Margaret M, George Courtland, William, Martha, Hannah J., Sylvester, Joseph T., and Adelbert T.

I have searched passenger lists and have not found his name yet.  I do not know if his parents came with him or if possibly they had died and he came on his own as a child.  Someone I have communicated with had in her records that he immigrated in 1822.  He would have been about 13 years old.  His first four children were born in New York and then he moved his wife and children to Illinois where the remaining children were born and he lived the rest of his life.

Thank you for any help you can give me.
