Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Deciphering a French census

Thanks everyone. I think Employé is most likely. I have seen the family tree on Geneanet, it belongs to a relative of mine. I have quite a lot of info about them, birth death and marriage certs etc. I was just intrigued by this job title. His father Etienne worked for Renault Delage I now see, which is still an import / export company in nearby La Rochelle ,another little snippet to add to my family info

Many thanks all

Ok guys, here’s the screen shot of the family, Albert is at the bottom.

I’ve just spotted that his father Etienne was an accountant at Renault ? So Albert could have been an employee there too ?

I’m struggling with getting a screenshot down to the correct size to post on here. The website I’m using is Filae as I pay for some extra info. Town is Tonnay Charente in Charente Maritime. The man I’m looking at  is Albert Jouaud , born 1901

In this 1921 census he is the youngest in the family at 20. I’ve just noticed that his father Etienne is an accountant ( comptable ) and I think the next column says Renault I think

The census is only available on a pay for site, I’ll try and do a bigger screenshot of the page

I’m trying to decipher a job description from a 1921 French census. Anyone any idea please. The man whose job it was , was aged 20, if that’s any help. And it was a coastal town so there was lots of ships and trade vessels about

An update on this very old thread. I now know that the child WAS born and was a boy. He was alive in 1924 and was by then old enough to be away from his mother. I know this because I have found a postcard his mother sent back from France  to her sisters In England saying give my boy a hug ! I still have no other info ! It’s driving me crazy ! Maybe the 1921 census may throw some light on him
