The oldest being James Mc Gowan Birth ABT 1796  Ireland and back to Monklands/Airdrie.

Her name is Jean Jarvie No maiden name yet (Husband Peter b.1793)

Just to throw a spanner in the works is it possible that Marriows is a family name as a few are jumping out at me from google?
Perhaps they worked and resided there.

Have you accessed her birth record in the Old Parish Registers yet? Sometimes that gives a clue as to where a place may have been.
Where did the family stay in 1861?

Yes 1861 the family were in Kilsyth. Still a bit of research to do but thanks for your help

If you go to the National Library of Scotland maps website, you will get free access to old maps of the area. Click on "Series maps" and select the earliest Ordnance Survey 6 inches to a mile map.

Yes found Mailings so guessing that is what it was meant to be perhaps. Thanks for your help.
