Laois (Queens) / Pierce Purcell

My gr grandfather was Pierce Purcell from Ballinkill, Queens County, 1840. Parents were William Purcell & Mary Fogarty. Does the Catholic Church still stand there for me to obtain Parish Records? He was a soldier in the Indian Mutiny and Maori Uprising NZ and died in Adelaide, South Australia.
I would love to find any any connections around Ballinkill.
