Hi

Have been doing a bit more research and have noticed that our families rub shoulders. Have you researched any of Sarah Trickey family. Sarah married John Townsend, the witness a John trickey who was also a witness to My jane Trickey, sister Elizabeth, maybe Sarah was also their sister.

hope this message gets to you

There was nothing at all for a Thomas birth in the Prescott Chapel records.  All seemed to be as per the IGI.  However I have made a note of Fry deaths as well which are not on IGI if you would like them.
It might be worth your while to still get out the Spiceland (Quaker) records.  There is nothing to say that your Thomas wasn't born into a quaker family and then changed to the Prescott chapel as an adult.  (Leaves no stone unturned) However be prepared that in all likelihood there won't be a birth record.  There were times where the minister wrote in the register that it hadn't been kept, and basically he couldn't remember! Incidentally I have photos of this chapel taken earlier this year.
I have no doubt our ancestors rubbed shoulders in past history.  My gg grandfather James had a brother John that also married a Trickey, and 2 of their children's births are registered at Prescott.  Like you I am trying to pinpoint her family.

Rambler
Thank you, you've been of great help.

Robert was the son of Thomas fry and Jane Trickey. (I can't find anything about theses two.)

That was one of the only pieces of information I had found. The other was that he had gone to live in Swansea. I knew of a Aunt Harriet and that was all.

The only brother that I can't find now is Thomas born 1830.

Hello

I would love to be able to stay yes or no, about connections with your John Fry but I cannot seem to find much on Thomas Fry. I know that his children were registered at Prescott Chapel, but nothing on  Thomas’s or Jane Trickey whom he married. At Prescot Chapel. If I can find his birth details I would hopefully be able to identify his parents and so on. If you could look out for Thomas Fry born 1797-1799. I would be very much appreciated.
I have a booklet on Culmstock marriages 1754-1812, one entry in it reads FRY John Groom, Townsend Sarah Bride 24the August 1754.

Stay in touch

Hello Michael

Thank you for replying I am looking for info. for a friend she is looking for a Francis Hankin, born 1841 from Hexham, Northumberland. We found him on the 1881 census married to a Barbara Moore, She has found a old photo with only ages on the back. The picture is of a family and looks around 1850' looking at the clothes. She was wondering if she was able to get a census of Francis and his family the two may match.
Does this information be of any help
Kind regards
Lorraine

Thank you Valda for your reply

I can’t find Thomas Fry on the Mormons IGI site that is why I think he could have been a Quaker but it would now make sense that the children were christened in Precsot chapel. If Thomas was a Quaker he may have had to come out of the faith because he would have had to find employment.

Kind regards
Lorraine
