If Annie didn't report the birth - then who did and what relationship & address is shown for that person?

This is the type of info that should have been included in your opening post

It was reported by it states A J Dodd occupier of 8a burton road. ( workhouse)

There is this Marriage;
05 Dec 1919, St Augustine, Grimsby
ANNIE ELIZABETH Robinson, Spinster, 23, abode Kylemore Weelsby Rd., Father URIAH Robinson, Labourer
MARK Robinson, Bachelor, 27, Occp Royal Marine, abode Scartho, Father WILLIAM Robinson, Labourer

Looking at Census before Marriage Mark was born c 1893 Laceby

1901 Annie Robinson, Father Uriah is born c 1896 Glentham, Lincolnshire

Just a possible scenario that Annie Robinson married Mark Robinson.
That would explain the Family story?

Trish :) thanks Trisha, I found a few possibilities of marriages and births for Annie but can’t be sure , I thought the workhouse records may show her age and when / howling she was at the workhouse

I`ve read this several times and it all seems very confusing !

One thing - Guisborough is in N.Yorks/Cleveland, " Gainsborough " on the other hand is about 20 miles from Lincoln. As it seems as if the handwriting is unclear, if it was me I would go down the Gainsborough route just to see if it can be eliminated.

Do you know the full name of the man who raised Dorothy ? If so try for a connection on the 1911 Census.

Also, legal adoption didn`t start until about 1927, not sure off hand of the actual date.
hi, I too thought most likely Gainsborough as it’s closer BUT I’m thinking I would need someone to go to the registry to look for Annie elizabeth Robinson to see who else may of been with her, on the certificate it wasn’t Annie who registered Dorothy’s birth, Annie address is given as A domestic servant at freeschool Lane. We know Dorothy didn’t call the ppl who raised her mum and dad. But can’t clarify if his name was John as ppl seem to th8 k that was his nick name. Unamed father on birth certificate

You are asking for a workhouse records lookup.  Dorothy was born in a Workhouse in Lincolnshire in 1918 so where does a 1901 factory & workshop act record relate to that request?

How could Dorothy be ready to start school in 1901 when she wasn't born until 17 yrs later?

Please read your replies as they are confusing

someone asked what area the workhouse was , so I said lincoln, but on another form is written guisborough that’s where that info came from. But info I’m after is from the workhouse registers, the 1901 act form was still being used to get information in 1923,

Purpose of it was as Dorothy was ready to start school.
