Yorkshire (West Riding) / Is the boys Surname Thrippleton or Wood
« on: Sunday 10 July 22 11:24 BST (UK)  »
Mary Ellen Helme was born during the first quarter1854 in Congleton, Cheshire. By 1861 they had moved to Leeds and 1871 to Halifax. During the third quarter 1874 Mary married John Clayton Thrippleton in Halifax, but he died 1n 1878.
During the first quarter 1884, Mary married Harry Wood in Halifax. The 1891 census shows the couple living at Cross Street, Hipperholme with Brighouse, Halifax, with children from previous and current marriages. included in are:
Harry Wood Thrippleton, born in 1882, stepson of Harry
Joshua Wood Thrippleton, born in 1884, stepson of Harry
The 1901 census shows they had moved to 14, Haigh Street Brighouse, included are:
Harry Wood, born in 1882, son of Harry
Joshua Wood, born in 1882, son of Harry.
I cannot find any birth records for any of the 4 variations of name.
So was Mary the mother or Harry the father of the two boys or were Harry and Mary the parents and the boys were born out of wedlock?
Any help would be appreciated

Thank you for your comments, Pennines. Yes I have both in my family tree but the Broscombe without the e. If you would like to take this further I would be pleased to help.
Broscombe family has been quite hard to research because of the over 20 variations  of the name I have come across

Mary Broscom was born in 1736 in Batley. In 1758 she married John Elsworth, in Birstall. One of their numerous children was Mary, born 1766, in Birstall. In the records for the death of Mary Elsworth in Birstall, there is an entry for 1790 and another for 1793.
Is there somebody out there who knows which death refers to which Mary.
Thank you

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Mother and daughter, both called Isabel North
« on: Wednesday 26 January 22 07:43 GMT (UK)  »
On 5th November 1594 Edward North married Isabel Grayve in Birstall. Their first child, also called Isabel was baptised on 1St June in Kirkheaton.
There is a burial on 22nd April at Mirfield for Isabell North.
Is this for mother or daughter or neither?
If anybody has the family history for the North family, I would be interested in communicating with them. Elizabeth North, 1710 - 1776 is my 6x Great Grandmother
