Hi Katie

If you are descended from Eliza then we must be related as she was my GGGrandmother through her daughter Mary. What is your link to Eliza? I have messaged you my email if you want to chat that way.

Cheers Ian

Essex Lookup Requests / Re: Parish Records Lookup please - JAY

Jo
Since I first posted this back in 2005 I have visited the Essex records office and confirmed the details of William and Jessie's christenings in Great Wakering and also those of their other siblings Sarah, Eleanor, James and John. Their father, Thomas, married Sarah Ward in Great Wakering in 1796 and I was also able to trace her family in the local records but Thomas was obviously from out of the village as I was unable to find any other record for him.

Like you I have only been able to find Jessie and William in the census records.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: Fletcher of Staveley

Vincent

If you haven't already found them, all your line can be tracked through the censuses from 1841 to 1901, moving from Staveley to North Wingfield and Hasland. They are mostly miners (as many of my family were) though I noticed one of Vincent's sons is a cordwainer and was apprenticed to a George Hopkinson, one of the family names I am tracing, though I haven't come across George before in my research.

Let me know if you need the census details.

Carol

Have you thought about looking in the Bishop's Transcripts which i think for much of Derbyshire are held at Litchfield?

Any idea when/where Joseph and Mary were born. This might help track them down.
