Thank you Shellyesq -- That's the same Nebraska family to which I referred and it's interesting to see the headstone . The dates look correct and I will follow this line further . Thank you for the help .
Regards ,K.

Thank you for the reply Shellyesq . I'm sorry but have no information other than that given . In my enquiries so far , I have tended to assume that he left Ireland 1870-74 and that he was almost certainly single as there is no marriage record here . In answer to your question , the only record is his birthdate !    Regards , K.

Not sure if this is the right forum but I have been looking for Robert Good 1852-1911 from west cork Ireland near Ballineen . His parents were William and Jane Good (Peyton) . His siblings were Rebecca 1853 , William 1856 and Elizabeth Anne 1859 . He apparently joined the US forces and I found a naval enlistment in New York in 1887 but am not sure it's him . His wife's maiden name may be Lindsay though I am unsure about this . I found another possible candidate in 1885 , 90 and 95 in Nebraska state census returns though at this stage these are tenuous . Robert was my grt , grt uncle and I would be very interested in finding out what happened to him and any help or pointers would be appreciated . I decend from his brother William and have plenty of information on that line to reciprocate .

I am sorry to say we have failed on this one.  He was our first incumbent and since the 1920s we thought we had his portrait, framed, in the vestry.  Some reframing and reading of old parish magazines revealed that his frame had been wrongly labelled with his successor's name, so we would  be very glad to know if you come across him elsewhere.

Ainslee - have you found a photo or likeness of Rev.Purdon ? I am in Carlow and am putting together a photo collection of the previous rectors of St.Mary's church . I am missing this one and would be most grateful for a copy were it available .
