Good morning Heywood

I suppose the only way to verify, if it is Mary, is to order the Death Certificate.
If it gave her place of birth as India, that would be a step forward.
I shall sleep on it for a while.

Hello Tickettyboo,

I also checked back and looked at the 1939 Census.  that is her family she had lived with from two years old.
I presume she was not at home when the Census was taken?

Well I am very grateful that I have moved on from the 1921 census when she was twelve years old at school. to 1944 when she is 36 and still living in Jarrow.

Also finding James. I am so delighted
Thank you

Sorry forgot to ask could you please let me know Mary’s address if that is no trouble.

I will have a look at my history notes to see if I can match her address.

Tickettyboo and Heywood

You are amazing, it’s the most  information I have ever had on James Larkin.
Fingers crossed it is Mary his sister that is referred to as his next of kin.

It does sound like him, it makes sense that he would follow his father James into the Army!

You are not wrong in saying, they have both been “untraceable “

I am excited

Thank you
Best wishes

Thank you Heywood and Milliepede,

I understand what you say about girls having to work. But she had such a sad start in life losing both her parents. Her fathers sister Mary Donathy  took her into their family. I find her there on the 1921 Census. That’s why I had wondered about school records to see if she was attending school in Jarrow until she left at 15?

I looked at that record for Mary F Larkin in Leicester I am really not sure.
On all records her name is just recorded as Mary.

Thank you everyone who is trying to help me sort this out.

With regard to James Larkin born 20 March 1907 in India I have NO death date for him.

The James Larkin born 6 December 1908 In Jarrow died 7 April 1987. Would of been his cousin
Their fathers were brothers.

The 1939 Cenus for James larkin born 20 March 1907 at 34 High Street Jarrow definately could be the right one.
