The fathers prof on the marriage certificate of his son (although deceased) was "contractor builder"
I have the marriage certificate, Ada Ellen Killick was a spinster, married Alfred William Linton 1907 Batchelor. They both lived at 17 Victory Street, Sheerness. They had two children one born in 1908 William Alfred & Dorothy born in 1905. I will check the other info you have given.

Wow thanks for the Navy info. The story is that the sons, stepfather didn't want him and he was put into a children's home. He must have still had contact with his mum. He was never adopted but age 15 was sent to Canada.

I have a brick wall situation.
Alfred William LINTON born ABT 1870 place unknown
Married Ada Ellen Killick, 1907 Sheppey, Kent
Father of Alfred is "deceased" also named Alfred.
I have the marriage certificate.
I cannot find a birth record for Alfred William
Ada Ellen re married in 1914/15 to William Cornhill.
So I'm looking for a divorce or death record for Alfred William Linton - "Painter RN" IN 1907

Thank you IMBER
I was hoping someone would recognize the dress. Mum passed away back in 1984 but I had this memory that she once told me she prepared or served the food. Sadly she didn't give me any other details. After the war she married my dad and they went back to farm work, later she worked for Coty in Middlesex and then worked for Rimmel. Mum had good friends wherever she worked and lots of memories.

Can anyone tell me what they would have done?  Mum never said. Looks like she had some nice friends.
