Aberdeenshire / Re: Burial Scans for Fraserburgh
« on: Wednesday 09 January 19 09:37 GMT (UK)  »
Yes we knew Adam Clerihew was buried with her, we just weren't sure which cemetery but you have just confirmed it was the Kirkton fraserburgh.

I have emailed Aberdeen Council to see if they know where about in the cemetery they would be as it's too big to walk around blindly (like we did) as the dates are not in sequence so hopefully they will come back and say roughly where about it is or I can find a map of the burial plots.

Thanks for confirming 😊

Hi Nell,

thanks for replying, I didn't know there was another cemetery in Fraserburgh so that could be why we couldn't find it.  We were in the Kirkton Fraserburgh as the burial scan only says interred in Fraserburgh so we assumed that was the only one as we are from the North East so don't know the layout of the land but I will contact Aberdeenshire council about that.

Thanks :-)

Aberdeenshire / Burial Scans for Fraserburgh
« on: Monday 07 January 19 15:52 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, is anyone familiar with burial scans?

We found the burial scan for a relative who was interred in Fraserburgh, we did visit the cemetery but unfortunately it was just too big to find one plot as there isnt any numberings or signs to say which part is the part we were looking for :-(

The plot we were looking for was for Annie Clerihew who died on March 16th 1938 and was interred on March 19th 1938.  Trying to decipher the burial scan we think it says CC IB lair 1556.  Does anyone know what this means and where it might possibly be located?

Thanks

Family History Beginners Board / locating records for Orlando Busato?
« on: Wednesday 17 October 18 14:47 BST (UK)  »
This is a long shot but I am trying to find any information on my Grandfather on my Mother's side

He is named Orlando Busato (possibly Orlindo) we think he orginated from Italy but was in an interment camp in Moray where he met my Grandmother Charlotte Greig Geekie born in Inverkeithny in Banff in 1918.  they had 3 children, (twins) born in 1945 in Aberchilder, one died in a fire in 1949.  My mother * Geekie (1946) but there is no named father on her birth certificate but she has the middle name of Busato so its a possibility that he was the father of her as well.  Charlotte also had 2 more children  (1944)and (1939) but under the name of Geekie.

We dont know his date of birth or any records of him being in Scotland at all or if he returned to Italy from the interment camps.  He is named on the death record of George and we are currently purchasing the birth records as we have to pay separately for these.  Can anyone shed any light?  I have looked at interment camps but I have come up blank, I have also tried the british history papers but another blank.  Trying to find anyone who might have a Busato in the family tree that might know of him.

*edited to remove names of possibly living people.  Please do not post names of anyone who is or may still be alive.  Thanks

this is the 1939 register and i know this is definitely the right family so you might be able to get some idea off that one, it carries onto the next page but dont know if you can access the link to it

Hi Rosie99 and J Jen

Thanks for that,

I have located him in the 1911 census but i am not sure that i have the right one as it said Sarah Anderson his wife possibly and George his son so that is why i have got stuck!

His father's occupation on his marriage certificate was a General Cartman..

In the 1939 one he lived at 4 Avon Street, Gateshead, his occupation was labourer at Steel mill.

You might be right about the Elizabeth Alexander one though as i havent found that one on the GRO or freeBMD as i was using the GRO to look for the maiden names of the children but  i couldnt match them up.  I had the same information that you got from the 1901 Census regarding the children but i just wasnt sure i was on the same lines as I only have him registered as Henry and not Thomas Henry? It would be easier if the certificates gave the mother and fathers names on the marriages and not just the father's :-(

Trying to find my great great grandad but hitting a brick wall

My grandfather was John Anderson who married Henrietta Holder in December 1937.  In the 1939 census they live with his Mother in law, Lavinia Holder and her two sons, George and William at 4 Avon street, Gateshead.

His Father was Henry Anderson supposed to be born (according to 1939 census) 24th October 1892 but i cant find a record of his birth to find his birth mothers maiden name.  He married Mary Smith in  Gateshead General registry office on 16th March 1915 and he is in the 1939 with the right family so i know this is him.  According to his marraige certificate his father is called John Anderson who was already deceased when he married in 1915.  I have that he was born around 1857 and died before the 1911 census but I cant work out who he married or who his family is.

Can anyone help as Anderson is such a popular name, I think i found him in the 1901 Census but his wife shows up as Ein Anderson living in Peareth Street?  thanks in advance
