Australia / Re: James Price & Cecilia Carney Marriage NSW
« on: Wednesday 30 December 20 08:22 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks so much for your hints and suggestions.
I understand the NSW BDM process a bit better.
I agree that the Parish Registers will be the next step and to investigate the Bathurst Historical Society. (Hopefully I will be at the National Library in April next year - one of my favourite places to spend time)

I am interested in James Price as we have a unproven DNA link to a Price family in NSW and James is one of the possible members of that family. Of all the marriages of a James Price this one to Cecilia Carney has been impossible so far to prove or disprove.

Hope you all see the New Year in your particular style and enjoy. Stay safe.
Cheers
Janet

Australia / James Price & Cecilia Carney Marriage NSW
« on: Monday 28 December 20 02:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
I have a marriage in the Carcoar registration district in NSW for a James Price and a Cecilia Carney in 1879 (2781/1879 NSW BDM).
I have been unable to find any further information about their lives.
There were other Carney’s living in the same area at this time and these are evident on quite a few public Ancestry family trees.
No Cecilia Carney is mentioned in these trees.
She may have had a previous marriage to a Carney?
I am wondering if you could help me.
Cheers
Janet

Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Price, John and Joseph (brothers)

Thanks so much for your prompt reply.
I have been out of circulation for a little while, hence the late reply.
You have given me some clues that are useful in completing a full picture of their lives. Now I'll check some DNA connections.
Once again thanks.

London and Middlesex / Re: Mary Murphy Birth Registration St George in the East
« on: Saturday 15 September 18 11:29 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for the welcome.  It amazes me that her brother and sister on either side of her birth year were registered and she wasn't.

You were right about there being other siblings Jeremiah and Julia.

Behind my question was the search for my great grandmother and her sister's family.  Their names are Bridget and Kate Murphy.  According to both their marriage certificates in Australia, their parents were Daniel Murphy and Bridget Coffey and both were born in Middlesex, England.

I have the marriage certificate of a Daniel Murphy and Bridget Coffey in Whitechapel in 1856. Roman Catholic.  Children of this union (?) and source of this info -
1857 - Daniel baptism and birth certificate (St George in the East)
1859 - Mary baptism (St George in the East)
1861 Census - Daniel and Bridget only
1862 - Julia baptism and birth certificate (St George in the East)
1866-1868 - Bridget marriage and death certificates born 1868/immigration record born 1866/GRO registration ?
1869 - Jeremiah birth certificate (Whitechapel)
1871 Census - Daniel, Bridget, Mary, Bridget and Jeremiah
1873 -1876 - Kate marriage certificate born 1876/death certificate born 1873/birth certificate of first child born 1875/immigration record born 1876/GRO registration ?
1875 - Johanna birth certificate (Whitechapel)

I have been unable to find birth registraitons for Mary, Bridget and Kate.

By the 1881 Census the family had fallen on hard times and it looks as if the surviving children went to different Roman Catholic institutions until they made their own way in the world.

Can you help?
Cheers
Janet
