Lanarkshire / Glasgow burial/cremation sites
« on: Monday 02 April 18 17:45 BST (UK)  »
I’m trying to find where my great grandfather, Henry ‘Harry’ Colville’s final resting place might be.  I know he was born in Kilmarnock on 14.2.1892. He married my great grandmother, Annie Stewart on 18.7.1921 at Ayr registrar office.  They probably resided in Cumnock, Ayrshire.  Then Harry left his family. I’m not sure when but I understand my grandfather was young (he was born in 1921).
These are the death details I have on him.

Harry COLVILLE (72) Dealer Widower of Annie STEWART died on 11 Nuovember 1964 about 1.30 pm at 28 McAlpine Street or between there and Royal Infirmary
Glasgow (usual address 28 McAlpine Street Glasgow).   Cause of death
Myocardial Degeneration - both his parents as above were now deceased.   The
informant was Samuel C. SMITH Constable Central Division Glasgow Police.

Ref 597 number 135

I would like to find out where he was buried. If anyone can help, I’d be really grateful.

Lanarkshire / Re: Colville steelworks

Hi, my grandfather, John Stewart Colville was born on 24.11.1921.
I know I had some Colville’s that moved to the Fife area and much earlier Colville’s that came from Ireland, but I haven’t explored the Irish side yet.

You never know, there could be a connection there somewhere.

Kind regards
Sharon

World War Two / Re: Buller 2 Squad 3 coy. RASC

Hi, no letters that I know of. I know he was a desert rat with Monty and saw Eygpt and I remember photos of Bethlehem. I know he attended a hospital in Sicily on 25.11.1943 at 33 General Hospital, Ward 10 and he also had a day pass to Naples too.

I sent away yesterday for my beloved grandfather's ww2 service records and hoping I don't have to wait too long. I have been able to supply them with his service number. Fingers crossed its just a few weeks to wait.

World War Two / Buller 2 Squad 3 coy. RASC
« on: Thursday 10 March 16 22:01 GMT (UK)  »
I'm currently waiting for my beloved grandfather's war records from the MOD to learn about his life in WW2. He never really spoke about it much but like all who served, he was a hero. While I'm waiting for this information, a photo was found of my grandfather with his full squad and printed along the front of it was: Buller 2 Squad 3 Coy. RASC. APL 9th 1940. I understand Buller to be the barracks in Aldershot and he enlisted in the RASC, but is there any way of finding out where this squad went from there or will I only really find out from his service records?
Thanks.

One Name Studies: A to G / Re: Bonehams from anywhere

My connections tend to be Chesterton and Southam.  I have nothing for Birmingham.  But that's not to say that any of my Boneham family didn't branch off towards that area.

I've found that my Boneham tree so far concentrates in Warwickshire.  Do you have any connections there, Dee?

Warwickshire / Frederick Boneham
« on: Friday 11 January 13 17:53 GMT (UK)  »
Frederick was Elsie Ellen Boneham's father and I'm trying to find his parents.  There appears to be some confliction as there appears to be more than one Frederick Boneham born in 1870.  Can anyone help, or look up please?
Thanks
