Thank you but this seems to cover the period 1878-1935 whereas I'm looking for 1825.

The Common Room / Groveland Colliery, Staffordshire, UK 1825

On 6 Oct 1825 three lines in the Birmingham Chronicle report the inquest on Edward Fisher who was killed at the colliery "by a large quantity of coals falling upon him". The date of the inquest was Monday 3rd October 1825.

Does anyone have any details of this accident and when it happened please?

David

Many thanks for taking the time.

For Sarah you've written July 1820 but if I look at FS the only one I find is 2 April 1820 in Wednesbury so is this someone in a different family?

I think Edward was baptised on 1 Feb 1795 so with the data you've provided I'm wondering if he lived all his life in Wednesbury. If that's the case, and noting the baptism dates, then the 1816 marriage to Sarah Jones looks the most likely to me.

Is this a valid assumption?

I believe my 3rd great grandfather, Edward, married 'Sarah' between 1816 and 1823.

From FamilySearch I have:

1) a marriage to Sarah Jones on 30 Sept 1816 at All Saints, West Bromwich.

2) a marriage to Sarah Round on 2 Oct 1819 in Tipton, Staffs.

3) a marriage to Sarah Smith on 23 Jan 1823 in St Peter, Wolverhampton.

I know of two children born to the couple, Mary abt 1822 and Edward art 1826.
Edward died in 1825 and Sarah re-married in 1829 but using her married name.

From Dudley Archive I have a copy of the 1829 marriage register. Courtesy of the Librarian at the Sandwell Archive I have a transcript of the marriages to Sarah Jones and Sarah Round. Unfortunately none of these documents provides any clue to Sarah's maiden name.

I'm struggling to identify Sarah's maiden name and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David
