Visiting my in-laws in Yorkshire in 1970s, reading the local newspaper and many death announcements had "men only" funerals.

It might be that the notice was placed by someone who only knew her late husband as John;  for decades I thought my godfather was called Frank and I only found about a few years ago that his "official" name was Peter!

There is an Elizabeth J Banyard (born 1910) shown on 1939 Register living in Hillingdon, Middlesex which is not too far from Denham.

I know the area well; lived there for many years!

The burial of my gt.aunt's ashes is recorded in the burial register (1948) for the cemetery in Kent.  She had died in 1941 so I guess WW2 delayed the burial.

One of my gt. aunts left a request in her Will that she was to be cremated and her ashes put in her mother's grave.  A few complications....she died in Somerset, mother's grave was in Kent but it did happen.

No registration for 1876 found but there is one for an Elizabeth Euphemia Bushell in 1976 (born 1895).
