Thank you so much Jim1 & rosie99.

Rosie99 - Witnesses hold no clues

Jim1 - Thank you for the "Patrick", could possibly be some relation, I, like you are unsure, only because the birth is 1904 and Rosina was born 1919, although she may be the youngest of several!!

Second marriage & third!!! of granddad Roughton produced more children but dad was more interested in the Shortt side as he only has one picture of his mum taken a few weeks before she died. He keeps hoping I find someone who may be related to him via that side.

Thank you so much

Warwickshire / Shortt family

Good morning, I may have asked this before a couple of years ago and apologies if I have.

I am looking for any information on the Shortt family who lived in Birmingham around the 1940's.

My grandmother was born Rosina Shortt in Ireland to Patrick Shortt & ?

At some point she arrived in Birmingham, last know address for Rosina I have, as written on her marriage certificate is (1942) : 82 Cliff Rock Road, Northfield, Birmingham. Her father is down as deceased. We have heard rumours she had a brother (possibly also called Patrick) who lived in Birmingham also.

Rosina died in 1945 aged 27 when my dad was 18mths old and he would love to know if he has any other family.

Any info appreciated.

I have also just found a Baptism for an Emily Perry 1862, Charlton nr Pewsey: Parents Frederick & Jane Perry, so maybe the birth I found in 1862 is this one.....think I will just bash my head against a wall... :D

There is also an Emily Perry c1864 in the 1891 census as a servant, born Mangton, Wiltshire living in Paddington, London...although the whereabouts of Francis Willie is complete mystery as he would have been about 4.

I also made contact with the family of Francis Willie Perry, who have his mum as Emily Perry .....nightmare...

Thank you so much for looking and helping...

PS: Sorry I forgot to mention, I do have the birth cert for Frederick which gives mother as Emily Perry and no name for father..

there are a couple of trees with Emily in with the marriage to James Rudman, although they have her down as EMMA Perry, as do some of the census and a couple of other trees that have her but no marriage..............I made contact with the grand-daughter of Joseph Rudman (Emily & James son), who also had her down as Emma, because she had gone by the census, I sent her a copy of the marriage cert, which clearly states EMILY Perry..........

the trees also have her death down as 1936 although this death relates to EMMA Rudman aged 73...and there is another death for EMILY Rudman aged 90 in 1951.

I believe this may be mine: Name:  Emily Perry Birth:  Apr 1862  - Pewsey, Wiltshire and this is the one aged 2 in 1861 daughter to Thomas Perry: Name:  Emily  Father:  Thomas Perry Baptism:  15 May 1859 - Charlton Near Pewsey, Wiltshire, England

My Grandmother (Emily's granddaughter by her son Frederick was also called Emily and so was one of the daughters of her other son Francis) ..............

I shall send for the birth cert also

Thank you

yes I shall send of for it....if Thomas is down as his father, shall have a re-think, as I would of thought then she should have known her fathers name was Thomas, unless it was transcribed wrong on hers...would that be a possibility?

thank you

Hi Keyboard86,

No I haven't, can I view online or will I need to send for it? I have looked at the marriage on a tree on Ancestry and the father for Charles is down as Thomas. But I still cannot confirm she is a sister, she could be a cousin.

Thank you

Hello Lizdb...No I have not got Emily or Francis in 1891, and yes I also saw that Charles Perry, I did think maybe Silas was meant to be Thomas, and maybe the Emily aged 2 died and the parents had another daughter in 1862, but all speculations.

Thank you

Wiltshire / Perry family please

Good afternoon,

I have researched a bit of my Perry family but have come against a brick wall.

My 2x Great grandmother, Emily Perry, was born 1862, I have found a census 1871 which may be her as an Inmate in Pewsey and another in 1881, which may also be her as a servant in Kingston upon Thames.

Emily had 2 son's, Francis Willie Perry 1887 Pewsey and Frederick James Perry 1894 Marlborough, (both illegitimate) and in 1897 Emily married James Rudman. Her marriage certificate states she is a spinster aged 36 and her fathers name has been put as SILAS PERRY, witnesses were Charles Perry & Lucy Ann Perry. I have not been able to find any reference to a Silas Perry

The 1901 census has Francis & Frederick down as W Son, which I believe must be Wifes Son... Emily (Emma), James and their own child Joseph S Rudman 11mths

1911 census has Emma Rudman - Nurse aged 49, born Manningford with a Ms Lucy Waight, she has been married 12 years and had 7 children, 5 still living, 2 dead

1911 census James Rudman, married 12 years, 4 children, 2 still living, 2 dead..Frederick Perry 17, Joseph Rudman 11 and Winnie Rudman 9.

Francis Willie Perry left the UK sometime around 1909-1911 and went to the USA and I have the info on Frederick J Perry (my great grandfather).

please could I have help regarding Silas Perry and any info for Francis W Perry who I could not find in 1891.

Many thanks for any help.
