Hi Sandra,
Your a star - many thanks for the info.  I tried to find siblings for Adam Girvin but only found John who married a Mary Ann that live in Salford too.
I did find the marriage of Archibald and Harriet Mottershead, not sure of where Archibald was born as can't find either of them on the 1841 or death for them to find more clues.
Harriet's parents I think are Adam Mottershead and Ann Stevens which I found on the IGI again not found any siblings as yet.

Hi All,
After much research I am failing to find my Adam Girvin 1810ish born Salford on the 1851 census for Manchester/Salford.
If anyone could help look him and the family up I would be most grateful as I am now stuck!

Adam Girvin 1810 Head Shoemaker Salford/Pendleton
Elizabeth Girvin 1816 Wife               Not known but died before 1861 census
Harriet Girvin 1841 Daughter           Salford

I wondered if anyone can help please, trying to find the birth record of my great grandad he was William Rowland (Roland) Gordon born 7th May 1890 in Dublin, I don't know where to start on the Irish records.

His parents were William Gordon and Sarah Swan and trying to find a marriage for them too, although we know Sarah Swan was born in Derby England, she didn't marry there so we presume Dublin as other siblings of William Rowland were born in Dublin too, George Gordon 1888 and Annie Gordon 1892, they were back in Leeds, UK on the 1901 census.

Any help would be mostly apreciated as we have been stuck on this one for over 8 months now
