Heraldry Crests and Coats of Arms / Description of a coat of arms
« on: Saturday 30 March 24 20:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, French fellow here.

I look for the blazon of two coats of arms I found in a family tree drawn in 1962. I also wonder wether those two coats of arms look authentic to you or not.

The first one is the coat of arms of Raphael Brandon Rodriguez, my ancestor, who fled Inquisition in Portugal, and arrived in England in 1750.

I don’t know if Brandon was already part of his name, or if he added it after his migration. I guess the coat of arms which figures a firebrand is related to the name.

What about the palms, the candles and the knight’s helmet? Do they have any signification?

Do these coat of arms look French or Bristish to you? I ask because the family moved from England to France in 1860 and maybe those coats have been drawn in France

The second coat is the one of Raphael’s wife, Mary Ann Hunter who was apparently admitted to George III’s court.

Sorry for any English mistake!
