Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Charles Burrell
« on: Tuesday 28 July 09 21:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi Yvonne, Charles is my gr gr grandfather. His son John married Catherine McDonald/McDonnel and their daughter Sophie is my mother's mother i.e. my maternal grandmother. I think we may have been in contact before but I had a major meltdown in my computer last year and lost a few contacts that I hadn't backed up. Yours must have been one. I would love to hear from you again and re-establish connection. My home email is (*)
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers
Vicki

Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey, Sark / Burial records
« on: Saturday 29 July 06 06:40 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone help find the burial records for a William Perrin and his wife Sarah nee Hardy?  They are both listed as deceased in 1853.  William was born in 1777 and Sarah in 1781.   Also any births for that family from 1802.   I know they had a son John born 1818 on Guernsey.  Thank you.

Thanks so much Kris.  I thought that you were in Cornwall but when I checked your profile it says South Australia.  I thank you for all your trouble.  It is greatly appreciated.

What an interesting system.  Nothing like confusing the hell out of people who are trying to find you.  I do appreciate all the help you have given.  I'm off to play tennis.  It is 8.40am here.  Miserable weather but I need the exercise.  Bye

Kris you keep bringing up more questions to be answered.  It is intriguing for sure.  Does the word "base" written in the records refer to illegitimate?  Are the names Nicholls and Nicholas referring to the same family or different ones.  That is a little confusing.

You have been great Kris.  This has given me a strong new thread to follow.  I agree about the sisters.  On the ships list I have a son William listed.  He is the eldest but there is no William mentioned on the baptism list for William and Johanna.  He could be a child from that first marriage  He definately existed and was with them when they arrived in Australia.  Thanks again for all your help.  This is a wonderful website and I will definately be telling all my fellow researchers about it.  Bye for now Vicki

thanks Kris, I have been looking back through some of my notes and the name Nicholas was written as a possible option to Nicholls.  The parents I have written in those notes for Johanna are James and Grace.  So perhaps it was not Nicholls but Nicholas after all.  I really appreciate your help.

Yes Joe this is the right one.  Is there any info regarding Johanna Nicholls b at that time in Redruth?  My husband is descended from Mary.
