Norfolk Lookup Requests / Marham look up please!
« on: Monday 11 September 06 15:11 BST (UK)  »
I am wondering if anyone hs access to the Baptisms of Marham or Cherry Marham as it was called in 1790's. I am looking for an elusive ancestor. His name was Morris Pilgrim, born circa 1794/7 he married in swanton morley in 1818. I have information on him after his marriage but cannot find him before. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thankyou for your help, It does seem that the Fairheads that you saw are indeed mine!! I really appreciate your help. I shll have to look now to see if esther or easter died before the census or if she was working? Also if there are records of them in the bastardy records. I know its a long shot but they may mention a father. Thankyou again

Sarah was living with grandparents John and Elizabeth Fairhead and their children Eliza m. bc1835, James bc 1833, and William bc 1839. They were living in Topcroft on the 1861 census. Are these the same people who appear on the 1841/51 census? She had moved to Beccles in suffolk by 1871 where she met her husband. So yes it could explain why i couldnt find her if she was the daughter of a spinster and she would still be old enough to marry in 1872.

Thanks for all the help but i think Sarah was the one born in 1852 because of the year she got married (1872). I was hoping that she would be in the parish registers but she may have been born in another parish then moved whilst very young to Topcroft. I will keep looking in the hope of finding her birth. But thankyou.

Please does anyone have access to the Parish registers of Topcroft? I am searching for a Sarah Fairhead born 1852. I do not know who her parents are as yet. I think i know more about her grandparents as she is living with them in 1861 and a servant in 1871 and married by 1881. Help please?!!!

Hi Thankyou for trying. Knew it would be a hard one to crack! Dont suppose you know what years they do cover? And if the year 1820 would have come under another parish? He has to be out there somewhere.
thankyou

Hello Paul
Thankyou so very much. I thought i would never find them because Evans is a common name. I guessed it would be Llanfair because of the census's where Elin says that this is where she is from. And marriages usually take place in the womans parish.
Now i can start to look in that area again to see who isaac's and Elin's parents were.
Thankyou again
