The Common Room / Re: How far sideways are you researching?

I have gone sideways on all my lines.  I just can't ignore them if they relate to my lot  ;D.  I also find that it can confirm that some of the information that I already have is correct.  Sideways gives me somewhere to go when I can't go back!

Cheshire / Re: Illigitimate or not

That's exactly what happened with mine.  My GGG Grandfather and his siblings were illigitimate and took their Mother's maiden name as their own, and it's still going strong.  As yet, I haven't managed to find out who their Fathers were.  :'(

The only one I can find is aged 9 living in Desborough, High Wycombe.  Is she yours?

The Common Room / Re: Ancestry - Can you read this?
« on: Saturday 29 April 06 13:52 BST (UK)  »
It looks like 279 to me.  If you look at the "9" for the one above, you can just about make out the tail end of it.

Hope this helps

Have a look here as well.  It might not go as far as the year you're looking for but it might come in handy.

I've never subscribed but I've used "pay per view" quite often.  I found that very good,  simple to use and you can see how much you've used as you go along.  ;)
