Family History Beginners Board / Re: 1841 lookup please - Emma Robertson

Hi Erica
I believe the Royal Chelsea was a school rather than a hospital and Emma and Edward were probably boarding there. In which case they would not necessarily be related to others on the same page in the census entry.
Just a thought.

That is very helpful Osprey, thank you.
I had no idea Breconshire is now covered under Powys, this is all quite confusing..... not to mention all the Welsh place names and trying decipher them from old census handwriting!
I feel so useless at times!  ::)

Hi Carole
I realise that is the case in general although some parish priests give more detail than they are required to depending on how thorough they are and how well known the family is to the priest....I was hoping..... ;)

Thank you so much for your help.  :)
I had no idea we could order copies of parish registers from archives...wow! Do you think other counties offer similar services?
This is brilliant news..thanks again.

Breconshire / Marriage Look Up Request 1817
« on: Sunday 20 March 11 17:22 GMT (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone has access to the parish registers that cover the Llanfeigan area of Breconshire?

I am looking for a marriage between David Jones and Mary Pugh that took place on 2nd May 1817. I would like to know any furtherdetails held in the parish record such as parents' names, witnesses at the marriage... basically anything that could help me further my search along this line of my tree.

Thank you so much,
Amanda  :)

Glamorganshire Completed Lookups / Pre 1820 Glam Look Up Please
« on: Sunday 20 March 11 16:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there!
A marriage between Edward Nicholas and Mary John took place on 18th May 1807 in Merthyr. Could anyone give me furher information about this couple that could be held on the parish records? Such as witnesses at the marriage, names of the bride & groom's parents etc? This would help me further my tree at a place where I have been stuck for years!  :)

I also have a Benjamen Parks, a puddler who married Ann Thomas who was born 1770 in Glamorgan. I do not know the place or date of their marriage but their daughter Ann Parks was born 1820 in Merthyr, in 1851 they lived at 27 Pelly Street Merthyr.
Would there be any chance of locating their marriage and finding any additional details the parish records hold?

Thank you so much.
Amanda :)
