Louth / Re: Track down someone
« on: Thursday 26 August 10 18:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi blue000125, I can"t offer you any help as such, but I can empathise with you I have the same problem, I know that the ancestor I am looking for died in Jan 1960, in Co Louth, but like you can not find a certificate for him, we can only hope that if we post their names on enough boards, that some kind soul will come along, that the name "rings a bell"with.  I live in hopes.  And I wish you all the luck in the world with your search.  Juliefay.

Louth / Re: Brick Wall!!!

Hi Frecklesjack,  Is that right? I was of the opinion that the main depositories, such as St Patricks Presbytery Dundalk, and /or St Peters Drogheda held ALL the baptisms for County Louth, and indeed a friend contacted those two churches looking for a baptism on my behalf (with NO luck, I might add)
It is looking more and more as though he could have been baptised with a different name altogether.
I have been researching for six years now and have not come across that name in any shape or form, just cannot get started.......... Thankyou for your input.. Juliefay :(

Hi,   Can anyone throw some light on the reason for The "Presbytery" St Patricks Cathedral Dundalk not answering my correspondence? I was told by Dundalk reference library that they hold the records post 1900 for births/baptisms marriages and deaths, I sent a letter four weeks ago "signed for intetrnational", so far no answer, I wrote five years ago also? ???
