Hi, I would like to trace the history of a house in Glossop which my daughter has just bought, the house in question is number 8 Pikes Lane Glossop. Any information would be greatly appreciated as we know very little about the house.

Thank you for replying. Yes that's him in living in St Annes in 1939. The article in Lancashire Evening Post sounds interesting, how can I view it. Any idea where Fred was living in the 1920s before he was married, thanks again for your swift reply, Tony.

Hi, I am trying to find out where my father in law lived in the 1920s/30s, he was born in 1914 to Harry and Esther Harris in Darwen. I have found Harry and Esther on the 1911 census living at Highfield St Darwen with one daughter Winifred. I remember him mentioning Plantation fields near to where he lived. His name was Fred Marsden Harris, hope someone can help, thanks. Tony.

Thanks, sounds like you are right Jools. The picture is larger than the one I posted, it shows the driver of the carriage as well as the young man, unfortunately the photo is too large to scan. I will try googling now I know his full name, thanks again, Tony,
