The information on Libindx is wrong. The info they have for David is correct but the info for Margaret is that of her daughter Margaret Storm.

Thanks Pru I had a quick look and although names are very similar the dates aren't , Although I know the areas in Moray well enough being from there myself. Talk about coincidences with names my mothers cousin married a Wood  :D and her mother( the cousins) was an Ogilvie  :D

I have my tree on GenesReunited.co.uk I also at one time had it on rootsweb but the email addy is defunct now and haven't been able to update tree or addy as it was a couple of years ago.

regards

Shalako

Pru

Well we all ended up back in Morayshire from mid 1870s and are still there . Not come across anybody in Banfshire yet.  My grandfather joked that but for a spelling mistake we would be royalty so there must be a tie in somewhere. Its the George and Catherine thing thats got me stumped. I did post on the Kincardineshire board but with no success.  Thanks anyway  :) :)

Hi Prue

I too am researching Ogilvies and have got back as far as 1800 and hit a brick wall. I have a William Ogilvie who died in Sutherland in 1869 tracing back his age from the birth certificate he would have been born about 1795 his parents are given as George and Catherine Ogilvie of whom I can find no trace. On the 1841 census william gives place of residence as Marykirk in Kincardineshire but have drawn a blank there too. Williams offspring are John and Janet so maybe we have some sort of link here .

Kincardineshire / HELP with OGILVIE in MARYKIRK
« on: Tuesday 26 February 08 15:51 GMT (UK)  »
Can anybody help with info about Ogilvie's in Marykirk

On WILLIAM OGILVIE's death Certificate who died in 1869 in Keodale in Sutherland I have the following information: age on death 77 .

Parents George Ogilvie and Catherine Ogilvie

He was married in 1831 in Tongue and his wife Jane (also an Ogilvie) came from Marykirk .

On the 1851 Census both are living in Tongue but have Marykirk Kincardineshire as place of birth.

Any information about William, Jane, George or Catherine would be greatly appreciated as I have hit a brick wall....... or am maybe looking in the wrong places.

regards

Shalako
