Thanks Margaret,
Yup, he seems to have 'strayed' somewhat, but who knows these days what real hunger would drive one to.
I will try sending the local libray an email for help - fingers crossed.
Now back to my pork pies!
Cheers

Family Bibles / Re: PLEWS Family Tree

Hi Chris,
If its not too late I would appreciate a copy of your bible extraction of PLEWS.
I recently started to pursue my wife's JACKSON/PLEWS, whilst I do not see an immediate match it is quite likely that one exists.
Martha JACKSON b. 1808 Marrick, married Richard PLEWS b. 1803, Catterick, NRY,
on Aug 21 1827, in Marrick.
This Richard was the son of George PLEWS & Margaret METCALFE they and their six offspring appear in and around Patrick Brompton, NRY.
The grandparents  of this George was George PLEWS & Margaret SPENSLEY, no birth dates yet (C. 1740) but they married on Feb 28 1758, Patrick Brompton.
I do have a 'Snippet' file on all my collateral surnames so I need to check this also.

Hi Margaret,
OOOP's! - Thanks for deserved 'elbow in the rib's.
The chap in question was Joseph BELL, (Son of William) born abt 1828, Trusthorpe/Mablethorpe LIN.
He appears to have committed two thefts of food (Pork pies) in 1851-3 in Leamington before his marriage to Myra BOWERS in 1856, Fulford. (He then settled  down)
I have a lot of data on the families presence in the Stone, STS area post 1861; but I know little of him prior to this which is why I am keen to follow up the Warwick  revelations.

Cheers

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Leamington Priors Newspaper Report

Would some kind soul visiting the local Archives be able to find details of a theft committed on the 26th Feb  1851 (Two Pork pies valued at 2/- the property of Thomas Mountford) at Leamington Priors. He was sentenced to 6 mths with Hard Labour at Warwick Lent Assizes on 28th Feb 1851.
I have been trying to locate this chap (my 2x Gt Grandf) for 5 yrs! discovered a 1851 enumeration placing him in Warwick Goal, not the Stone, STS area as expected.
All seems to match but I would like any additional detail if possible.
