I hope that you will all be voting today, if, of course, there is a local election in your area.

I remember when I first became eligible to vote and there was a local village council election being held.  My father asked me if I was going to attend, and I said "no, I don't understand what it is all about."  His response was - you WILL vote - women died so that you could have that opportunity.  Since then I have voted whenever possible.  We even came home early from holiday so that we could vote on Brexit.

Added:  He also taught me "if you don't vote, then you can't complain!"   ;)

What is now Oulton Park Racetrack in Cheshire was a PoW camp - Italians and German, who were sent out to work on the farms.

Thanks, I was part of the 17 page thread from quite early on.  I have been helping with aspects of the family conundrums for a considerable period,  Annie was definitely a "character" and thinking about it, I'm not sure that divorce would have entered her head!

Thank you so much for that - I have now down-loaded the full version.   :-*

I do have the 1911 entry for David, Annie plus two children.  Eva is another mystery  :o  but very, very interesting.

Again, thank you for your help.

Thanks.  I've got the 1911 census entry and I also have Annie's birth register entry for Lucknow in India - father was a soldier.
