Thank you both very much for the suggestions.  I'll take a look at both.

Hi, I would like to create a chart showing selected people from an extended family.  Not a pedigree or descendant chart for one line/branch.  Does any genealogy software package allow users to tag individuals and chart only them?

Looking on offaly.rootsireland.ie index....
A Robert Dupleix, son of John and Deborah, was baptised in Ferbane CofI in 1831. Ferbane is near Belmont.
Also baptised in Ferbane were Sarah and Catherine Dupleix, with parents John and Deborah, but with no dates given. It would be worth taking a look at the microfilm of these records to see if the date is legible.

If her brother Robert returned to Ireland then I suspect this is the Dupleix family from Belmont in Co. Offaly.  I came across them in my own research, though they are unrelated to me.

A Robert Dupleix was a shopkeeper there from the 1860s.  His name was mis-transcribed as Patrick in the 1901 census.  He married twice - first to Eliza Seale in 1861 but she died in 1871, and secondly to Anne Johnston in 1872.  The 1872 marriage cert lists Robert's father as John Dupleix, a farmer.

The Calendar of Wills at the National Archives has wills for Anna in 1903, and probably Robert in 1907, so that would explain why they're not in the 1911 census.

Do you think this Robert could be your Sarah's brother?

I found lots of new records - they're not even available on microfilm at the NLI.  It's great to be able to search online for them.

Hi Marienne,

Thank you for your generous offer.  If possible, can you check J.B. 258 in Ford Cemetery?  I think there is someone called Foley buried in it and am interested if he is the only one.

Regards, Lbud

That sounds promising.  Here is my Bridget in 1901 and 1911.  She is widowed and living with her daughter's family.  She died in 1916.
