I believe I've identified his parents thanks to heywood.  Thanks also to KG.

Looking forward to travelling from South Wales to Kilkenny to visit family and continue research when restrictions are lifted.

Hi Heywood,  I have him on the 1911 in Callan.  I know where he lived and I'm aware that he had two children (one of them my wife's mother).  I'm trying to find his birth cert to identify his parents.

KG, I'll do that.

We visited Kilkenny library some years ago and were given lots of info by a very enthusiastic gentleman.

Thanks for your help.

KG, thanks.  I'll have a look when I can travel to Kilkenny.

heywood, no residence.  I have my relative's army records, marriage cert, birth certs of his two children, entry on 1911 census (aged 46) but no record after.  His army records show 4 different ages!

He's alive in 1914 when declared 'medically unfit when trying to re-enlist.

There are a few birth certs which could be him (same father's name as on marriage cert) but can't identify.

Need his birth certificate to go back further. Hoping death cert would help.

Kilkenny / Callan Workhouse

I have found a record of a death in the workhouse in 1916 which could be a relative.  The death was registered by an official so there are no family members named although it says he was married.  Are there any workhouse records available?  How could I identify him?
