Westmeath / Re: Rooney family of Moyvore, Westmeath

Hi Cappie, not sure if we are connected, as our James father was Richard Rooney B..1829 in Ireland D..1864 in Tasmania Australia, his mother was Elizabeth Sarah nee Sims B 1843 England, James had a sister Ellen Jane B..1861 D..1934, and a brother Patrick B..1862 D 1929. James was B 25-12-1864, 6 mths after his father died. We think he went to Sydney Australia in 1883, and that was the last we know of him.  Good luck in your research Rainybell

Welcome to roots, & to think you have found a connection to your GGGrandmother Ann. Abraham was my Ggrandfather, I have alot of information on him here in Australia, and if this is what you want, I  would be pleased to pass it onto you, have come to brick wall  about the rest of the family in the u.k, so maybe we can help each other. Kind regards Rainybell

Hi Lesley, not sure if there is any connection to my tree, as I know very little of the Palmer's, and have hit a brick wall, but this is what i know. My Ggrandmother Letitia Palmer was born Calcutta 1844, her father was Charles Palmer, he was in the British Army, her mother was Hannah Stasker/Stasher, doesn't matter where I seem to look, it tells me (no results found) its very frustrating isn't.  Good luck with your research  Lorraine

Thank you so much Ros and Johngirl, Elijah sure had problems with drink and his fists didn't he, his dad Abraham also had the same problem, he was sent out as a convict, and Elijah's G father died in jail, so not a good record. Johngirl I see you have a Rose convict, we have a joseph Rose convict transported 1836, any connection. Thank you once again for your help  Ranybell
