I realise this is a old thread, but on the chance that someone is still looking here - I have got James Ridgway (1820 - 1888) and Jane Birch (1826-1901) from Heaton Norris who, before emigrating to New Zealand had James (1852) Elizabeth (1850), Amelia (1856) and Jane (1859) all in Heaton Norris I think - any relation? Once in New Zealand they had more children of which William (1863) is in my tree.

I have the same people on my tree - I'm very new here and see this is an old thread, so hoping you still see this - is there any chance you are any relation to William Ridgway or know anyone that is? - I believe he is my Great Grandfather?

Hi, I put this in the new peoples section, but I thought it stood more chance of a reply in here really!

 I am looking for any information about Patrick Ridgway born (*) in Auckland, his parents were Agnes Mary Ridgway (Carter) born in Picton around 1909 and his father was Lawrence Ridgway born in Carterton around 1892. Lawrence's parents were William Ridgway (1863-1940) and Mary (Trotter) (1867-?)

I believe Patrick is my father, he arrived on the Southern Cross Wellington in Southampton on 25 February 1957, and he went to Rhodesia from England on the Athlone Castle in January 1959. I would like to see if there is any trace of him and if he has any siblings?

Not sure if it's any help, but I have a James Ridgway born 11/9/1820 and moved to New Zealand where he married Jane Birch - he also had a son James born in 31/8/1852 - not sure if the place of birth is correct - it has Heaton, Norris, Cheshire, England down for both the James's
