Europe / TRANSLATION please - German/Latvian
« on: Friday 28 September 12 12:08 BST (UK)  »
I have a baptism church entry I would like to have translated.  The online translators are not working too well, so it could be an 'older' German or Latvian language.  It is from a Latvian church record.  Thankyou.

Adrian,
I have just found a baptism record for a child of the above couple.  I think it is again old Russian and maybe a bit of old German language.  I am hoping you might be able to see if you can read it for me.  I am not sure if it is one child with lots of names or maybe two children!!!
Regards Sharon.

Hi,

I have attached a marriage record of one of my ancestors.  It is in Russian and Latvian, I have had trouble translating it via the online translators and I am hoping someone will be able to help me.

Sharon.

Europe / Re: Richard Bielby in Latvia
« on: Wednesday 22 August 12 09:14 BST (UK)  »
Richard Bielby was born in Patrington, Yorkshire. Libau in Latvia is where he lived and had his shipping business in Riga, Latvia.  He married in Latvia, and as far as I know she is Latvian/Russian.  He is mentioned in Latvian newspapers but I have no one to translate as yet.
Thankyou garstonite

Europe / Richard Bielby in Latvia

I have been trying to find the name of Richard Bielby's  Latvian/Russian wife and children.  They married in Latvia/Russia around the 1890's.  I think they had two children.  They lived in Libau and he worked in Riga as a shipping agent.  He also worked for the British Foreign Office in Petrograd.  Any suggestions?
