Hi Jean

That is wonderful - thank you so much for your help!

There was one thing about the Sands Directory entries that puzzled me - maybe you can sort me out, please?

There are mentions of H Gadsby and Hy Gadsby in that same area. Are these 2 different people or the same person?

I will follow up the links you kindly sent me.
Regards

Hi

Through the Sands Directory: Sydney and NSW 1858 to 1933, I have found mention of ancestors Sophia and Henry Gadsby (mother and son) in relation to properties in the Dandaloo and Nyngan district of NSW.
Their names appear in  the years 1897, 1898, 1899 and 1900 as owners (I presume), of  properties "St Leonards", "Orange Plains" and "Balgay."
Can anyone advise how I could locate further information as to whether they owned or leased these, and  the purchase/sale of these properties, please?

Thank you.

Thanks for the information.  It does say that the first stone is dedicated to those who died en route so presumably the others were convicts but died at a later date.

Is it possible to search an index to locate a name, please?

No mention of my ancestor on the info you kindly attached.
Thanks

Australia / Convict Plaques in Tasmania

Hi

Some years ago, my older family members were invited to make a financial contribution to commemorative plaques, or maybe it was stepping stones, for Tasmanian convict ancestors.

Does anyone know about this and where these plaques might be, please?

My convict ancestor came to Port Arthur, so I assumend it might be somewhere near there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Australia / Victorian Place Names

Hi

Can anyone help me please with information on an entry that appears on an ancestor's death certificate apparently identifying the place of 'marriage'?
I could not find any marriage through the Victorian BDM for that era: late 1840s to early 1850s.

Place names:
Glenlogie, Lexton (or it could be Sexton)

Were these towns or regions, perhaps?

Thanks for the map, Kiwi Girl.

It's a mystery that plot 1088 does not appear...

Yes, I assumed that, but checked with BDM and they confirmed it.
