Yorkshire (West Riding) / Annie Naylor - missing after 1901
« on: Sunday 16 October 11 14:38 BST (UK)  »
Annie Naylor (ne Pinder) born 9/5/1874 in Holbeck Leeds. Married to Alfred Naylor - 3 children Nellie born 1899, Herbert born 1903 and Elsie born 1910.
1911 census shows Alfred as married but Annie Naylor is not there. The 3 children are as is Annie Walker at the bottom of the list shown as housekeeper aged 24.
I can't find Annie Naylor anywhere else in 1911 nor can I find a death or further marriage for her.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Thanks everyone. I was hoping to do it without having to pay for another certificate but maybe that is the only way.

I can't connect a sister-in-law either.

Alfred died on 7/10/1929 and residence of informant is same as "where died" 5 Playfair Street Hunslet.

I have the death certificate for who I thought was my great great grandfather Alfred Naylor however his death certificate shows the informant as his sister Edith Barber. I can't connect the 2 people at all.

Alfred was born in 1874 in Hunslet and I thought his parents were Hiram Naylor and Ann Thomas but I can find no trace of them having a daughter named Edith.

I found marriage records for an Edith Naylor marrying a Frederick Dawes in 1916 and an Edith Dawes marrying a John C Barber in 1924.

Any ideas?

Ellen Holmes 1852 Droxford
Harriet yates/Holmes 1854 Hambledon

thanks again

Hi Nell

I can't tell you how much I apperciate your help - it has been driving me mad!

I'm at work at the moment but will let you have all the information later - I do know that my Great Great Grandfather was born on 8/6/1849.

I would say he married Jane Moon as he was living with a Jane in 1841. Can I ask what transcript you have? And what does otp mean?

Thanks again

Sam

Hi Nell

1851: Thomas head, Ann servant, John son, Mary daughter, Charles visitor, James son
1861: Thomas head, Ann wife, Mary daughter, Ellen daughter, Harriet daughter, Elizabeth visitor
1871: Thomas Head, Ann blank, James son, Ellen daughter
1881: Thomas head, Ann wife, Harriet daughter, William son-in-law, William grandson
The only marriage I can find for a Thomas Yates is to Amy Chase 27/10/1833 Clanfield.
I tried to find Amy Chase or Jane Chase in other records but drew a blank.

Thanks for any help

Sam
