US Lookup Requests / Re: Eborall Family - Immigrated to USA around 1905
« on: Sunday 02 January 22 12:47 GMT (UK)  »
I've looked at the Find a Grave site and have added some possible edits.  I am at the moment trying to trace John's roots which seem to originate in Solihull, Warwickshire.

Thank you all for your prompt response.   The fact the family immigrated in 1885 makes more sense.   John Eborall's date of death ties in with my information which puts his date of birth at 1837 in Chelsea, Middlesex.   The rumour that he drowned en route led me to put the year of immigration at around 1905.

US Lookup Requests / Eborall Family - Immigrated to USA around 1905
« on: Sunday 02 January 22 12:05 GMT (UK)  »
Happy New Year
I am trying to trace the immigration details of the Eborall family who left UK, probably London, about 1904-05.   The father was John Eborall who apparently drowned at sea en route.   He was survived by his wife, Isabell Charlotte Eborall (née Wimpey) and 12 children.   The family eventually settled in and around Portland, Oregon.
Any information on date and port of arrival in USA welcomed.
Thanks, Dave

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Rawlings Marriage Cold Ashton - Complete
« on: Monday 13 December 21 10:13 GMT (UK)  »
Request lookup of possible marriage in Cold Ashton.   I wish to confirm a marriage on 16 April 1829 which may have taken place in Cold Ashton, between Jonas Rawlings of Cold Ashton and Hannah who may have been from Dyrham.   I am particularly interested in confirming this marriage and finding out Hannah's surname.
Thanks, Dave

Thanks for that information.   I believe her father was born in Garth which is close by.   Now I need to trace her mother’s family - the elusive Cleatons (Clayton’s).

Cardiganshire / Llwyn Prisg, Trefeurig
« on: Friday 03 September 21 14:07 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on Llwynprisk (or Llwyn Prisg etc), Trefeurig in the latter part of the 19th century.   In particular the family of Eliza (Elizabeth) Jane Jones who, according to a copy of her birth certificate, was born there on 18 March 1877.   Her father was David Jones who was a tailor, presumably in that locality.   Her mother was Mair Jones, formerly Cleaton, sometimes spelt Clayton.
The 1911 census gives her place of birth as Salem which is near Penrhyncoch.   Is or was Lwyn Prisg a  separate hamlet or is it or was it a house.
My detailed local knowledge of this part of Cardiganshire is fairly limited, any help appreciated.
