Thank You Keyboard and Treetotal - somehow I managed to miss that one on 29 March - I'm sure I read it, but did not copy the info down.   Thank you for being patient with this "beginnner"  ;D

In my search for William Smith's parents, I wonder if it is possible to access the bmd records from St. Augustine's, Hedon.  The family tradition is that both William Smith and Elizabeth Atkinson were baptized there.  We now know that they were married at St.Nicholas, Hollym on August 14, 1861 - those records also would provide names of parents.

Thanks for your reply.  Am not sure about exact burlal site - family records simply say "Hedon"
Is it possible to see the parish records from St. Augustine's - they would confirm date of death and place of burial.

I am searching for M I s for my great-grandparents:
            William Smith - died: 15 May, 1877
Elizabeth (Atkinson) Smith - died January, 1896
They may be buried in St. Augustine's cemetery
Thanks

Is there any way you can send me a copy of that photo by email so I can share it with my cousin who is Mary Bett's grandson?
Thanks.   Cliff

Carol, Thanks for the pics - actually I have been there (in1975) but did not know enough to begin a search into my Gibson/Smith roots.
I will create a new post looking for M I's - thanks for being patient with me.

Yes, it does say he was born in Sproatley - I was just hoping we could find some confirmation of that fact in another source.  Once he was married to Elizabeth (1861) he does not appear in any census.
Thanks for your suggestion about M & I, but I am not sure what that is?  ???
